Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your garage door opener. Upon researching model 139.53615SR; it uses coed switches to be able to open the door. The model 139.3043 does not use any code switches it has a built in code that the remote will learn. Wit model 139.53615sr you will need to change the code on the garage door opener. I linked the manual below. The instructions are on page 19.

I have the same problem. I can't get the opener to forget a code, once it learns it. With this pre-1993 model, pressing and holding the SR button for 6+ seconds does NOT work.

I have the same problem. Pressing and holding the button on the opener does not erase the codes. The indicator light never goes off as manual says it should to indicate the Old Codes have been erased.
