Thank you for submitting your question, I can understand your concern. I will be glad to help you. It's definitely a concern when the neighbors remote opens your garage door opener. Unfortunately, you cannot change the frequency unless you use a universal kit with a 315 megahertz frequency. I recommend erasing the memory on the motor unit by pushing and holding the learn button for 6 seconds or until the little i.e.d. light goes out and then have your remotes close to the unit and push the learn button again and the button on your remotes one at a time and the work light should flash once to except the remotes. Then if you neighbor is home have him try his remote to see if it will open the door. If reprogramming all the remotes still does not work, it will be cheaper just to replace the unit.  I hope the information provided is helpful, if you need additional information please reply below with specific details. Q:

What kind of gear replacement kit do I need for my Craftsman garage door opener model 41A3493-1?

A:

Garage door openers are very handy. Normally the drive worm kit is the part that needs to be replaced on the garage door opener. I did some some research on the 41A3493-1 and it is a part number for a logic board. The model number is usually three numbers a dot and more numbers, normally starting with a 139. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take 24-48 hours. I do hope everything works out on the garage door opener.
