Q:

why does the limit switch (start switch) have 2 output contacts which apparently need to both be closed for proper operation? Why not one switch for both wires? 137212290 Craftsman Miter saw

Q:

Part number 2bk8 for model number 137.212290 doesn't seem quite right 137.212290

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The original table insert might have had a slot in it when new. The replacement insert will need to be cut.

Put a piece of 1 inch wood over the insert and lower the saw slowly. Let the blade cut its way through the insert. When the saw is all the way down, lift the saw and remove the piece of wood. Start the saw with nothing under it and lower it as far as it will go. The insert should not splinter or crack.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
