Question and Answers

Q:

I have a compound miter saw model 137.212140. The laser doesn't work. I replaced the batteries, and it still doesn't work. What is wrong?

A:

Be sure you have all 3 batteries positioned correctly in the laser. Always clean the laser while you have it apart. Blow it out with air pressure or clean it with a soft paint brush.

The laser is activated by the centrifugal force of the blade turning.

If the laser doesn't work after cleaning it and confirming the batteries are positioned correctly, replace the laser.

Finally figured mine out. The batteries were making poor contact due to corrosion on the contacts. Took a small screwdriver, scraped them clean and now works perfectly.

The DW7084 crown molding stop is for a Dewalt Miter Saw and I do not believe it will fit on the Craftsmans model you have though I have no information on this part fitting other miter saws than the Dewalt brand.    There is a vise for the Craftsman miter say at the following link which may do the same thing.  Here is the link: Vise

You can reply below with any additional details or questions.
