Q:

key start spins starter but starter does not engage to turn engine 917374030 Craftsman Lawn mower

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the lawnmower.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Craftsman Lawnmower model number 917374030.

With your model lawnmower.   I see the original engine, a Briggs and Stratton, model
124L05-1306-F1.

When is the last time you tuned up the mower?   With not engaging I would check out the spark plug and the magneto.   The two items is what causes the spark of the engine to turn over and run as it should.   Keep engines running well need to change spark plug and air filter around once a year.

Hello again and sorry that I misunderstood your question.

I am now looking at your Briggs and Stratton engine which I see as the model 124L05-1306-F1.

I understand well now.   What you need to have the starter engage is the bendix aka the drive starter gear.  It has the gear and the spring on the end of the starter that is an easy repair.

Please look at the starter picture below.   It is the box of key number 10.   You get all of that in the box.

Q:

I would like to order grease for my Husqvarna Model 124L Trimmer & Fuel Filter & Air Filter? How?

A:

The 124L designation is only the model name and we can not confirm the exact part numbers based just on the name, but those numbers will be listed in your Owner's Manual or on the Sears PartsDirect site.

In the majority of cases, any general maintenance items that do not have specific part numbers listed in either of those places will be considered common store purchase items. For example, if no specific grease type or part number is noted in the manual or on the parts site it is because any common grease from your Sears Store or most other stores will work.

In cases where specific part numbers are listed, you can use those numbers to order direct from Sears PartsDirect or to find or order the items at your Sears Store.

The model number you will need will be on a decal or metal tag on the product itself.

The interval for greasing the wheel will be listed in the manual under the Maintenance or Service sections, and typically it will also be in any Maintenance Schedule chart in those sections.
