Thank you for your question. I searched for a copy of the manual but did not have any luck. I see that another member was looking for the manual and did find it. He is willing to send a copy to anyone needing it. He asked that you email him at snoopy2x@gmail.com to request a copy.  I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.  Thank you for using Manage my life.  Mark

Q:

Manual needed for Craftsman Dual-Action Sander 315.11680

A:

That model number machine does not have a PDF manual listed on the Manage My Life.com site. The 315.11680 sander IS still listed on the Sears Parts Direct.com site, with a good number of parts still available for purchase. Although a manual is listed at the bottom of the parts list, Sears is sorry that the manual is no longer available to order. The 315 Original Equipment Manufacturer is Ryobi. Do you have any other questions, pertaining to this sander, that a poster might be able to answer?

It can be difficult to locate printed materials for vintage power equipment. Unfortunately, the manufacturer no longer produces printed material for this model sander. This looks like it is from the 60's. I see the manual is available online from several web sites for a fee, but I was unable to locate any online free copies. You can search online for one of the sellers to contact, but we would not be able to recommend one over another. I have attached the parts diagrams here; Sears Parts Direct; .

There are few replacement parts available. If you decide it is time to shop for a replacement sander, you can click here: Sears .

I am sorry I was not able to locate a free copy. I hope have an opportunity to assist with future needs.

You've made more progress than I've been able to if you found the manual available online at all! I really wouldn't mind paying for either a .pdf or paper copy, if I needed to do so in order to get one. Could you please let me know the addresses for the website(s) where you found it? Thanks very much for the help!! Maury

The one I found that will cost the least is in the link below. Scroll down about 1/4 to see model and individual's information. I will recheck the others and provide another one if it is good.

I found that post too, a couple of weeks ago - but it's almost a year old, and though I tried several times to get a response, unfortunately I did not get any answer from the person who posted it. Did you come across any other sources from which to purchase one of these manuals? Thanks again for the help, Barbara!

Q:

What is the sliding lever located on the right side of the sandpaper bed?

A:

It is likely the lever (key#52) that you would rotate to open and close the clamp to secure the sandpaper in position or it is a broken "platen and locking lever assembly" (key#53). The platen and locking lever assembly is no longer available. See image below.
