Thank you for your question on the power mate reset button for the vacuum cleaner.

If the power mate is now running after you pushed the reset button it may only be the outer decorative button that is hanging up.

If it is not running then you may have to remove the top cover of the nozzle housing to get to the reset on the inside.

It may be stuck in the plastic housing on the power mate cover. If the power mate is working I would not worry about the button.

Please let me know what the situation is and we can continue to troubleshoot with that information.

The first image below shows a parts diagram of that Powermate component. The second image shows the routing of the wires. The following images show the service procedures for that Powermate. That information should help you reassemble that Powermate. NOTE: The model number that you provided appears to be slightly off. This answer is based on model 116.29219800 (a 9 digit appears to have been missing from that model number that you provided). The parts list for the Powermate is shown under model 116.59219800 (the first 2 is changed to a 5 to access and view the parts for the Powermate). You can view and order parts if necessary on the Sears PartsDirect.com website.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and an updated model number if necessary.

If you get to a point where you need to have the vacuum cleaner repaired by a service technician, you can carry it into your nearest Sears Store or Sears Repair Center. Here is a link for the Sears Service website where you can view drop-off locations and flat rate service labor pricing: Sears Home Services . The flat rate service labor price for vacuum cleaners in most areas is $59.99.
