POwermate 11658612790 Kenmore Power-mate

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there are problems with the vacuum.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Vacuum model number 11658612790.

When the brush isn't rotating the first thing you look for will be the belt.   Is the belt broken or worn out and not serving its full purpose anymore.   Sounds like you have a belt problem.

If the belt is there and good, but the motor getting hot then it would be a new motor you would need.

Belt for model 116.58612790

Q:

canister vac 116.58612790, DH0921058 keeps popping overload protector will engage the brush for 5 revolutions & pop overld How do i get cover off to check 116.58612790

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your vacuum is not working properly. I did look into the model number you have provided and I do apologize that is the model number for the  power mate only.  I was able to locate information on how to remove the cover to the powermate.
To remove the Powermate cover remove two screws, then pry out 4 tabs and lift off.
I have attached how to take of the hood on the canister itself, the powermate, and troubleshooting information for the tripped overload protector.

Let me know if this helps.
You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

Click here to view the model number you have provided me.

The model number for the canister is on the canister itself and will start with the same numbers.

I did attach the instructions to remove the hood on the canister as well.

What other information are you needing on your unit.?

The photos I sent you is for a similar model, but your power mate head cover has screws on the top of it that you need to remove rather than the bottom like the photo shows. I do apologize we do not have technicians over the phone to assist you with troubleshooting. We provide free troubleshooting and it does take time to find the information for you.
If you click on the link I provided in the previous response you will be able to look in your Owner's Manual and find instructions on page 14. It will state how to remove belt, but it shows you how to remove the cover off your unit.
It also has the troubleshooting information I have provided.
Please Refer to link I have provided.
