Thank you for your question on removing the top cover on the power mate.

We have to go in from the top on this one.

First you will need to pop off the light lens cover.

Remove the push and twist to release light bulb.

Locate the two screws in front of the swivel and remove. They are long screws.

Then grab the sides of the top cover with you finger and pull out and up to get the cover off.

Too replace the cord you are going to need to remove the height adjuster by snapping it out of the plastic tabs. You will need to do this to get to the wire harness going to the wiring for the circuit breaker and the motor wires.

I hope this will help you with changing out the cord for the power mate.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Need to open the powermate on kenmore vacuum cleaner

A:

Vacuums can be difficult to get into. Everything is very flush and there is usually some screw or another tab not visible. An expert will review your model and respond but I found a previous expert post that has some diagrams that may just help. I attached the link below.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to check the drive belt for the roller brush.

  • You will need to remove the snap on light lens and cover.

  • Then remove the twist lock light bulb.

  • Then remove the two screws on either side of the light bulb socket and then spread the two tabs and remove the cover.

  • While you have the cover off remove the roller brush and remove the bearing end caps on ends and clean any debris or build up. (Do not oil the bearings)

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I hope this will help.
