Q:

seeking info on Kenmore116.5521290 vacuum attachment: how to open

A:

It can be very unclear on how to take apart a vacuum, but it is always in your best interest to do it the correct way. An expert will have an answer to your question shortly. Usually an expert will respond to a question within 24 to 48 hours to help you every step of the way. I attached a link below that will help you prevent your circuit breaker from popping. I don't have the exact owner's manual for that vacuum cleaner that should show how to open the Power Mate floor attachment. Here is a link for the manual on a similar model that may help you open that component: Owner's Manual . The basic procedure shown in that manual may help you get the Power Mate open on your vacuum cleaner. Be sure that the vacuum cleaner is unplugged before opening that Power Mate. Once you get it open, check the belt, agitator and the bearings. This will probably help you resolve this problem.

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website if necessary.

If you are not able to open the Power Mate, you may want to have the vacuum cleaner serviced by a technician. Here is a link for the Sears Service website that has information on repair drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .

If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.
