Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my canister vacuum not working?

A:

The model number you submitted is not a valid model number. You did not indicate if it's the canister or the power mate that's not running. I am going to have to assume that you are referring to the power mate not running.

There could be several reasons why the power mate is not running:

  • Tripped overload protector
  • Loose wire connection or a broken wire
  • Failed handle switch
  • Failed motor
  • Loose connection between the lower wand and the upper wand.
  • Hose assembly

Canister not running could have one of the following failures:

  • Motor relay
  • Power cord
  • Motor
  • ON/OFF handle switch
  • Thermal protector

I recommend taking the vacuum cleaner canister and the power mate in for servicing.

Resubmit your question with the model number taken directly from the canister and the power mate for model specific information if needed.
