Hello James. Based on your model number, the wiring instructions for model 500 would normally be the ones to use. I do not have a copy of the installation instructions for that replacement motor. I will try to get a copy of those instructions so that I can see what you are looking at. I will update this thread once I get those instructions.

Your description seems to indicate that the motor is not wired correctly since it gets hot and blows that circuit breaker. There is a chance that the motor was damaged when it was wired incorrectly and got hot. You may need to have a service technician visit your home and physically examine that motor and the system. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

As noted above, I will update this thread once I am able to obtain the installation instructions for that motor replacement kit.

I was not able to obtain the installation instructions that you have for that motor. We no longer have technical support for that older model of built-in vacuum cleaner. It will be difficult for us to provide you with information for wiring up that replacement motor without that technical information. I recommend that you have a service technician replace that motor in this situation.
