The 4369591 belt seems to be the right belt.

From the description you give I suspect two possible causes for the belt burning.

The most common reason of a burning belt was the belt coming off the shifter. This would happen when changing from carpet to bare floor. The vacuum must be turned off to change settings.

Turning the unit off before changing settings was often forgotten about.

The two bearings 4370532 assemblies are another possible cause of this problem.

I'd suggest trying the other belt and be sure to turn the unit off before changing settings.

If there is still a problem then I'd suggest taking the unit in for service. Some models had an improved shifter design that help prevent multiple belt failures. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .
