Check to see if the dust bag is full. Try pulling the dust bag out and briefly running the vacuum cleaner without the dust bag to see if it will pull any suction through the hose. If it gets suction without the bag then the bag will likely need to be changed. How do I reset the suction motor?

A:

You did not indicate if the motor is running or not. If the motor is running then pushing the motor reset will not help. The motor reset button is used only if the motor gets jammed and trips the reset switch and quits running. If your indicating the motor is NOT running, then PUSH the motor reset button to reset the switch.

If the motor is running and there is no suction, check to see if the dust bag is full. Try pulling the dust bag out and briefly running the vacuum cleaner without the dust bag to see if it will pull any suction through the hose. If it gets suction without the bag then the bag will likely need to be changed. If you are confident that the hose is clear and you are not getting any suction with the bag removed then the motor may need to be replaced.
