I understand needing further instructions regarding your vacuum hose replacement. First you need to remove the swivel. There is a clip on the swivel that holds the hose collar in place. This clip is shown in the first image below. The ridge in the hose collar that fits into this clip is shown in the third image. It is located along the seam that is in the hose collar. It you are able to twist the collar to that this ridge disengages from the clip, you will be able to move the collar down the hose and remove the hose from the swivel. It takes significant force to twist the ridge in the hose collar out of the swivel clip. You may have to pry the collar outward on each side as shown in the second image to release the collar. I did some research on our site as well and located another set of instructions that should be helpful, please click here to view.

I hope this proves useful but if you need further assistance please feel free to reply back to this thread.

Thank you for your question. I understand how it feels to have something stop working suddenly. Does the PowerMate itself work?  If not, there are a couple of items that may cause this failure.

  • PowerMate connections not secure or unplugged.
  • Worn or broken belt.
  • Agitator or end caps restricting movement.
  • Tripped overload protector switch.
  • Switch not in carpet mode.

If all of these areas have been checked, then there may be a crimped or broken wire. You can check the connections where the wand and the handle meet and at the bottom of the wand where it plugs into the power mate socket. Within the wand there is a link at the top that connects to an internal ribbon harness for power to the power mate. If the link is open it will not work. These are two pin connectors and they can get loose and not make connection. Look for any arcing or burnt spots at that connection. The image below will help to access wiring and switch in the handle.  If parts are needed, you can view the diagrams and order needed parts at Sears Parts Direct.

If the PowerMate is working and it is only the attachments that do not work, I would suspect a clog somewhere causing restricted suction. If further help is needed, please reply with additional detail.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.
