Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to no what a Progressive canister means.

It is just a way for the manufacture of the vacuum to keep the different style designs straight.

I have found a complete hose assembly that will work with your vacuum.

The part number is: 8195150 and you can purchase this from: Sears Parts Direct .

This is quite expensive at about a $131.00. I think I would rather invest in a new vacuum. But that is up to you.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Will a 3 prong vacuum hose from a Kenmore Whispertone fit my Kenmore vacuum model 116-2645088?

A:

It's not likely that the hose from the Whispertone would fit model 116.2645088 vacuum but without knowing the model number of the Whispertone vacuum I will not be able to say with any certainty.

Resubmit your question with the model number of both vacuums and then we can check to see if the hose would fit or not.

A:

Kemore Electric Hoses that swivel in the connection to the machine body, fall into TWO and THREE prong style. If the opening in the canister takes a swivel hose AND has three 'holes', you need a three prong swivel hose to connect. Three prong hoses have a switch in the hose handle grip for ON/OFF and BareFloor settings. Two prong hoses have the ON/OFF switch located on the body of the vacuum itself and a few have the PowerMate on/off switch located in the handle grip. Generally, Hoses between Whispertones and Progressive models will interchange as long as the number of prongs on hose matches number of holes in canister hose connection. Hoses with electronic speed control (buttons or slide) in the handle grip will ONLY work with models in which the original hose had electronic speed control.
