I am not showing that the hose assembly part 8175196 is a valid substitute for the hose assembly on your model of vacuum. If you use that hose assembly, you will not be able to use the on/off switch from what I can see.

To remove the hose from the original handle, you will normally need to release clips that secure the handle on the collar of the hose. You may be able to use a procedure similar to the one shown in the image below to remove the handle from the original hose.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details (digital pictures would probably help).

If you are not able to repair the vacuum cleaner yourself, I recommend that you take it into a Sears Service Center for repair. Here is a link that provides information on drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .

These are the WRONG PICTURES. This shows the SWIVEL ASSEMBLY, NOT the HANDLE ASSEMBLY.. Please provide pictures for the HANDLE ASSEMBLY (other end of the hose). The removal of the screws is obvious, but there are some clips inside. Thank you.

Hello Marshall. It sounds like you may have a handle that looks like the one shown in the image below unless you have the exact model of vacuum cleaner described above. The procedure shown below may help you with that repair procedure. If you need more help, reply with additional details and the full model number of your vacuum cleaner.
