Q:

how to install a part 11626312605 kenmore

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your vacuum. Upon researching model 11626312605; the old rivet would need to be tapped or drilled out. If you google how to remove a rivet it will show you a couple different methods. That way you can choose the easiest method available to the location of the rivet. Then you would use a rivet gun to install the new rivet.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Thank you for your question Tatyana. I am so sorry to hear that the motorized powermate is no longer working. I know having a working vacuum is essential to feeling your home is truly clean. I have great news - you can replace that as an asssembly. I have included the link for you to order the part.

Replacement powermate for model 11656312605

I want to let you know that the replacement powermate may vary in color. The majority of them come in black. To keep your vacuum cleaner running optimally, I recommend replacing the filters in the canister at least once a year. I have included those links also. You may notice I changed the model number from 1165... to 1162.... If you look at the model number on the bottom of the canister you will see the 4th number is different from the powermate.

Exhaust filter for model 116.26312605
Secondary filter for model 116.26312605
Motor safety filter for model 116.26312605

I recommend ordering them with the powermate as the shipping charge on the powermate will cover the shipping on the filters for you. If I can be of further assistance please respond to this thread. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct, we appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. Please follow the instructions below to replace the swivel.

  • Remove the extension wands from the power-mate unit.
  • Remove the light lens by using a small pocket flat blade screwdriver to release the plastic tabs.
  • Remove the light bulb.
  • Remove the two phillips screws located on the under side of the power-mate by the wheels. The power-mate is a clam shell design. On the back and sides of the upper and lower housing there are plastic interlocking tabs you will need to snap loose to get the unit apart.
  • Remove the wand step pedal release by lifting up and off.
  • Remove the cord retainer from the swivel tube by using a small flat bladed screwdriver to release the plastic retainer tabs.
  • Remove the two phillips screws that hold the swivel cap onto the swivel.
  • At this time you should be able to remove the swivel assembly.
  • NOTE!!! There are two swivel dust seals, one on either side of the swivel that will come out with the swivel. Please install these onto the new swivel when replacing.
  • At this time you should be able to remove and replace the handle release pedal and reinstall the new one.
  • Install the new swivel with the dust seals and install the swivel cover with the two screws.
  • Install the top cover with the two screws.
  • Install the light bulb and lens.
  • Install the step release pedal, and the wire harness and cover.
At this point you should be done. Good Luck.
