Q:

Vacuum hose replacement instructions

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your vacuum. The images below will provide the instructions on how to remove and replace the hose. This include how to remove and replace the handle. To reinstall any of the parts you will need to follow the directions in reverse. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on the link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Thank you AnneJ for the follow up information. I clicked on the images and copied them to print the instructions out. I noticed, yesterday, after posting my message that other people have asked similar questions. Sorry I didn't realize answers were already available on this site (Sears Customer Service didn't mention to do a search first before posting a question). In looking at another posting (at this link): http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/228816-how-do-i-replace-the-hose-on-my-kenmore-model-11623512304-vacuum-cleaner I notice there is a better explaination of how to disconnect the swivel assembly using two small pocket screw drivers to pop off the base to access the hose wires (see images at the end of Sam A's posting). I see this is a different model Kenmore, but I'm thinking this will work on my canister vacuum hose as well because it looks similar (but maybe not identical). Am I correct? I also thought the use of the vise sounded a little confusing in the diagram image above (as mentioned in the other posting), so this other explaination seems easier. Will this work for my hose swivel assembly or is it different for my Kenmore vacuum model? Thanks again in advance for any help. Sincerely, Steve

A:

Steve, all of the Kenmore vacuums produced in the last ten years are identical. The information that you found on Sam A's answer will work for your unit. I think that it is easier to use the pages from the service manual, but if think it is easier the other way then by all means follow those directions. We are only here to help you in the best way we know how, so if there is another answer you can use, then we encourage you to. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
