Question and Answers

Q:

is the motor bad? m#11622613201 11622613201 Kenmore Vacuum

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your vacuum is not working properly.

If the relay is getting power from the handle but is not energizing the motor then it will likely need to be replaced. If the relay is okay, you could have a bad motor. If the relay is not getting power from the switch in the handle, you could have a bad switch or wiring failure.

Most likely it is your motor, but you should have it checked by a service technicain.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

The problem could be in the cord attached to the bottom wand or the receptacle in the handle. You can probably tell where the problem is by inspecting the connector on the end of the cord and the connector inside the handle.

To replace the cord, you need to order the lower wand. To replace the connector in the handle, you need to order the wire harness in the handle. If you order the handle assembly, you will receive the plastic handle without the switch or wiring harness.

You can see a parts diagram and order parts for the vacuum at Parts Direct

If you have questions, reply on this thread and I will be glad to help.

Q:

Cord Reel retracts without pressing bar 116.22613201 11622613201 Kenmore Vacuum

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore vacuum.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your vacuum malfunction, after researching model number. 116.22613201. The brake lever seems to me like it needs to be replaced. this is what keeps the cord from rewinding, it may be damaged. The part number for the lever is 4370692. If for some reason this part doesn’t work than I would suggest replacing the whole assembly, its a lot easier to replace and will save you tons of time. the part number for the complete reel is 8192047.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.
