Thank you for your question. Thank you for the model number. I can understand wanting to replace the swivel yourself. You will need some basic tools. Two small pocket sized flat bladed screw drivers seem to work the best. I will send you some pictures on how to change the swivel.

  • Remove the swivel and hose from the vacuum.
  • At the swivel end look for the plastic mold lines on both the rubber cuff and the elbow of the swivel.
  • Once you locate those insert your flat bladed screw drivers into the swivel groove at the mold seam lines and pry under the cuff and slide the screw driver back under the cuff about 1 1/2 inches to release the locking tab for the cuff on both sides of the swivel.
  • Once you have this done you should be able to slide the cuff up the hose and expose the wire harness and how they lay in the holders. Make note of the wire harness routing so you can install them the same way on the new swivel assembly.
If you do not get them correctly, the cuff will be very difficult to get to slide up and lock.
  • You will now see the locking tab on the swivel that hooks onto the corrugated hose, Flex to release and remove the swivel from the hose.
Re-assemble in reverse order.

The Third image gives the basic steps for taking the handle apart. Your model might be slightly different but the steps are the same. Once you have the handle apart insert the hose wires into the connector and properly route them in the holders before reassembly. I hope this is helpful. Please reply below if you need further assistance on installing the hose. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Hi Mark, I don't know what's going on with this site, but I don't see your images... nor do I see Marc's link he was going to provide in his post. I'll try to follow your directions without the images, but if someone can explain why I can't see the images or the link in the other post, that would be helpful. Thanks, robk

Thank you for your question on replacing the brush roller drive belt.

Remove the power head from the wands and set if on a work surface.

Snap off the top cover for the light and the lens.

Remove the push in twist lock light bulb from its socket.

This will expose one to two long screws that secure the top cover on the power mate. Use your hands to pry out on the back side edges of the top cover to remove it from the locking tabs.

With the cover removed lift the ends of the roller brush out of the base socket location.

While you have the brush out clean any debris from around the brush roller. Remove the bearing end caps, but do not loose and spacer washers.

You can clean any debris from the bearing area. DO NOT oil these bearings.

Install the new belt onto the motor pulley first and then slide the roller brush into the belt location and dock the roller brush back into the base location. Please make sure it installed correctly.

Re-install the top cover by first locating the front slot tabs on the front of the base and then hinge down and snap into place.

Re-install the light bulb.

Install the screws and the light housing and lens.

I hope this will help you install the new belt on the power mate.

Please let me know how it went.
