Q:

Tractor blades won't disengage

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. Wow, you have done all the checks I would have recommended. I think you are correct that the clutch has failed. To be one hundred percent sure the clutch is the problem you can disconnect the wires from the back of the PTO switch. Then see if the blades turn when the engine runs. If it does, I recommend replacing the clutch. If you need to order the clutch, you can do so from the following link. Replacement electric clutch for a Craftsman tractor model number 917.250551.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the repair of the mower.

I apologize for it taking so long for me to get you an answer for the slide door. I am sure that you have already figured out how to fix the vacuum slide but I had to wait until they shipped a new version over to the vendor support team and then he went through the process of removing and reinstalling that part in a new model to how to do it. He said that it will be much easier to install the new part if you remove the lower housing to make it easier to get into that area to load the springs as you slide the mounting rod into the housing. It will be tight but you should be able to load those springs one at a time as you slide the rod through the housing and into the slide door. If you have anymore questions on this product we should be able to more timely answers from the vendor source support time know. Sam A.
