Question and Answers

Q:

Table saw won't turn on. 113198610 Craftsman 10-inch deluxe electronic radial saw

A:

If the new switch needs a key, make sure that the switch key is inserted.

There's a chance that the motor has failed. I don't see motor brushes listed for that motor. The motor doesn't appear to be available as a replacement part any longer.

If you're handy with multimeter, you can carefully check to see if the motor is getting voltage. Wear electrical safety glove if you check voltage to the motor. Unplug the saw immediately after making that check. If you're not completely confident that you can safely check that live voltage, skip that test.

I hope that these tips help. If you need further assistance, let us know.

Thank you for your question about the age of your table saw James.  Unfortunately that is not information we store. I would recommend looking at the motor. There is usually a production date on that.

I was able to locate the folloing information on your mode.

1 - The Owner's Manual was published in 1977.

2 - The part list was last updated in 1987.

Therefore, it looks like your table saw  is at least 35 years old, but possiblly even more than that.  I have located both the parts list and the owner's manual online. I have included those links in case they may be useful  to you.

Q:

Table saw not working.

A:

Dust and debris can get into everything on a table saw. I see you have already tried to blow out any stuck debris. I located two similar questions with information that may help while you wait for the expert review and response. I attached to the links below. I hope this information helps get the saw back to forward motion.

Thank you for your question on the motor slowly going backwards.

I would have said to start with the relay but I have discovered that the relay is no longer available for this 1976 direct drive motor table saw.

I do not think it is the capacitor and it could be the motor field windings causing the problem, but again the parts are no longer available.

I am sorry that I was unable to help you get this saw running again.
