I am sorry you are having a problem with the saw. I searched system for a replacement for the protector but did not have any luck. I also searched online for one and no luck there either. This part is no longer available.

Thank you for your question on the bevel index not returning to 90 degrees.

It sounds like the bevel index pin is not releasing from the 45 degree lock position.

When you pull back on the knob it sounds like the pin is not retracting from the lock hole in the frame.

If the pin is not broken on the end you are pulling on I would spray some lubricant into the pin location as best you can to get the pin to release.

If this is not the problem please give me a little more detail as to the problem.
