Q:

I may have received a defective off/on switch part no. 37874 11329411 Craftsman Craftsman accra-arm 10 inch radial saw

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about the part you received for your Craftsman Radial Saw. I understand your concern about the possibility the switch is defective. Unfortunately testing the switch by pulling the switch back to the START position without installing it is not a good indicator whether the switch is bad. The switch simply opens and closes a circuit so there may not be any sound or feel to prove the action is completed. The best way to test the switch without installing it is to use an ohm meter to test for continuity.

If the part is defective, please contact our PartsDirect Customer Care Advisors at 1-800-366-7278 and we will be happy to assist you with getting it replaced. I hope this answers your question. If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

A:

Thank you for your question on radial arm saw not starting.

It sounds like the problem with the saw is either the motor windings have failed or the start relay or start capacitor has failed.

I am sorry but the relay is no longer available but you could take the capacitor out of electrical compartment on the saw motor and have it checked to see if that is the reason it will not start.

In case that is the problem then I will give you the parts information for the start capacitor.

Start Capacitor for radial arm saw model 113.29411 .

I hope this will solve your problem.
