Q:

How do you install a new tire on the lower wheel of craftsman bandsaw model #113248320. 113248320 Craftsman Craftsman 12-inch band saw

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Now when you receive these tires they will only be about 9 inches or so around to fit the 12 inch wheel. After removing the old tire on the band saw make sure the wheel channel is clean and of any build up.

They will require that you use very hot water to heat up the rubber so it will stretch around the wheels without breaking the tires. And even at that it will be a struggle to get them on. You won’t need to remove the wheel to install the tire.

There are a number of tricks you can use to help you put them on:

You will need to stabilize the wheel so it will not keep turning on you.

If you have some 3/8 dowels you can cut in 2 inch pieces to help you work the tire onto the wheel.

To help you with the installation, I have included a blue link below that will show some YouTube videos on replacing the tire.
