Q:

can i modify my craftsman drill press? 11324611 Craftsman Craftsman commercial 15-1

Q:

How do you get the clip that is located in the locking collar 11324611 Craftsman Craftsman commercial 15-1

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when a part on your drill press breaks. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found that you would need to replace the whole shaft assembly. I do apologize the shaft assembly is no longer available for this unit. After 5-10 years manufactures stop selling parts for certain units. Your unit is from around 1987. I recommend trying to find a used part to fit your drill press. If you are not able to locate a part then you may need to replace your drill press. I do apologize for the inconvenience. The part number for that shaft is 71158.

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Hi Bill, I checked that spring out and although it had the same number, this spring is a compression spring under an inch long. I'm certain my spring needs to be an extension type spring at least 6 to 7 inches long. Do you have any access to specs for this drill press? Thanks, Doug
