When I got the two sleeves, I called the Sears parts department and they are giving me credit for the sleeves. I'm just wondering if the sleeve and shoulder screw was available as a kit? I've ordered one off e-bay and I'm waiting to see what it turns out to be. It says it's the screw and rubber, as P/N 824254; which is what Sears should be selling. The way the saw is designed, I think that the screw and the rubber sleeve would probably have to be replaced at the same time. I know one thing; it won't work without that screw and rubber sleeve. I tried it. Thanks for the come back.

Thank you for contacting Sears Parts Direct with your question about the parts for your Craftsman compound miter saw. I am so sorry you did not receive the parts you needed to complete your repair. I know how frustrating that must be. I will be happy to help you with this. You are correct, the sleeve and the screw were combined into a kit and should have been sent together. I apologize that didn't happen. I have submitted a report to get this corrected in our system.  I was able to determine the size of the screw that you need. It is 10-32 X .44 and is a standard hardware item that you can pick up at a local hardware store. I hope this helps. If I can be of any further assistance please respond to this thread. I apologize again for the inconvenience we have caused you. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate you as our valued customer.

I'm afraid that your information is incorrect on the size of the screw. It is not a 10-32. It is an M4, Metric, shoulder screw. The 10-32 will not go into the opening in the saw. I went to Lowe's and Home Depot and tried to find the metric shoulder screw, and it's not there. I found the item I needed on E-Bay, for $3.77, including postage. I'm sure you are aware that Sears charges me about $3.99 for the screw and $7.99 for shipping? It's strange that on E-Bay, the P/N 824254 identifies it as a shoulder screw and rubber sleeve. When I got it, that what it was; perfect fit. And the total was $3.79, including the postage. I know my saw is just about on it's last leg. There are hardly any parts for it any more. As long as the motor continues to turn, and I'm able to buy blades, I will continue to use it. Thanks for you help and information. You certainly make our job easier, trying to keep these antiques running.
