Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand wanting to keep your drill running properly. I did some research to confirm this and found that there is no universal motor for drills. The only motors recommended for drills are the one assigned to it. Unfortunately, the motor on your drill is no longer available. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

A:

I did some research and I found the manual to your drill press, that might be helpful to you while your waiting on an expert answer. There is some troubleshooting on page 27 that could possibly answer your question. I'm attaching the link below, I hope this is helpful. http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/2061/CRAFTSMAN-Drill-Press-L0804024?brand_name_search=113.2131

If the motor is buzzing, I don't suspect we have an issue getting power to it. I would tend to think more along the lines of the capacitor in the motor has failed. Or perhaps the motor itself is bound up. Check to see if you can spin the motor by hand. If you can, then I would certainly suspect the capacitor.

I show the capacitor as no longer in production. You would really be best served taking the motor to a local electric motor repair shop and having them rebuild it for you. I show the motor as being no longer in production as well. You should be able to find a local shop that will either repair the motor or find one that will replace it.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
