I just found out this saw was recalled, and was mad as hell since I had also never seen the recall on the Sears site, only through word of mouth some 20+ years on. I lost the end of my index finger due to this very problem, and since I registered my product (a long, long time agao at purchase, I have never been notifieed of a recall and only found this thanks to someone pointing i out in a forum. The fact is, the $100 check is a rebate check and a joke if you suffered an injury like I did. I just sent off my 3rd email about this, as my saw is in near mint condition and has been well cared for. I only found the recall last week by pure accident, even though I registered my product like I do with all my tools. The kick in the teeth is that to even find workable parts, the price tag runs well over $600 as far as I can tell, and if the parts are not available, a new saw like this is between $1000-$1500. Instead of a check for a measly $100, how about covering the cost of a new finger tip Sears? Do they even understand the pain, loss and work issues a guy goes through after something like this? And at the time, they basically skirted the issue and made me feel like I had been the one at fault. Not cool.

Rachel, Thank you for your response. The current terms of the "Recall" from Emerson Tool Company are not desirable because they will only provide me $100 to take my saw, which is in great operating condition, out of service - i.e., strip the motor & carriage from my saw and mail it back to them to receive the $100 - a process that could take 6 weeks to complete. My saw is virtually brand new as it has not been used much over the years and I feel it is worth much more than $100. So, back to my original question: how can I obtain the Safety Repair Kit for my Sears Radial Saw that was covered under a recall? I think the kit that was previously mailed out by Emerson was kit # 509344. This kit contained two new blade guards (and the table pieces) - how best to get these important safety components for my saw? Thanks, Eddie
