I will be happy to assist you. A few tings will cause the float to come up. First, make sure the vacuum is the tipped when it is in use. This will cause the float to fall towards the air intake. If you are not tipping the vacuum, I recommend removing the filter and the filter cage. Once it is removed, make sure the float moves freely in the filter cage. If it is free, check the float for any damage. If it is damaged it would be lighter and could cause the problem you are having. When you reassemble the vacuum, make sure the float is installed with the hollow part down. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
