Q:

How do I get the electric motor out of wet/dry vacuum?

A:

The brushes in the motor are not replaceable or available to order. The motor was not designed to come apart in order to replace the brushes or rebuild. The motor will need to be replaced if it's worn out.

First, disconnect the power cord from the power source.

To remove motor:

  1. Remove the motor cover (key#2) by removing the lid (key#11).
  2. Remove the screws located under the lid (key#5) securing the motor cover to the lid.
  3. Remove the screws (key#5) securing the motor to the lid.
  4. Disconnect the motor wires and remove the motor assembly.

The new motor assembly will include key#'s 7 through key# 10 as shown in the image that I added.

Part number for the motor assembly is 824967. The cost of the motor would probably cost more than the purchase price of a new wet/dry vacuum.
