I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dryer. The PF error code indicates a power failure. This will happen every time the breaker trips. As for the dryer tripping the breaker, based on your symptom and details there is no doubt that either line one (L1) or line two (L2) is shorted directly to ground or the heater or motor is shorted to ground. Something could be mis-wired too. You could possible narrow the short down to L1 or L2 by using your ohm meter. Disconnect the power cord and place the timer to the on position. Place one meter lead on the L1 prong of the male end of the power cord and the other meter lead to cabinet ground and repeat across L2 and ground, one of the two will show continuity indicating which line is shorted to ground and then you can check that circuit/wires/components which may be shorted to ground.

Another thing you could do is a start disconnecting either the heating circuit or the motor circuit and then plug the dryer back in and see if it trips the breaker when started. You will likely find the short in the motor circuit which is powered by Line One (L1). The heater circuit is powered by L1 and L2. Below I have included an image of your wiring diagram to make this a little easier. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
