Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. The high limit thermostat (W10423382), operating thermostat (3387134), and themal fuse (3392519) also aide your dryer in heating. I recommend testing these three parts to see which has failed. With an ohms/volt meter you'll want to get a reading of zero ohms for all three parts at room temperature. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

I would recommend that you remove the rear panel and make sure the gas valve is staying on.  You can feel the heat and hear the flame.  The operating thermostat controls the length of time the valve is on and the temperature is 150-155 degrees on high heat.  The hi-limit thermostat controls the temperature if the operating thermostat sticks closed.  If the hi-limit is faulty the heat will never get to the temperature range of the operating thermostat.  I would recommend that if you have tried and it is still not holding the heat on.  You will need to check the thermostats using a multimeter when the heat is on and if the heat goes off quickly the voltage across the hi-limit and the operating thermost needs to be checked.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Q:

What is wrong when the igniter will glow for 10-12 seconds and then go off with out lighting gas?

A:

The most likely problem is weak solenoid coils on the gas valve assembly. There is always a chance that it's a failed gas valve assembly too. Key# 10 in the image is the gas valve assembly and key# 13 and 14 are the coils. It's recommended to replace both at the same time. I recommend ordering the coil kit which will include both coils. The part number for the coil kit is 279834.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.
