Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

Because gas appliances are inherently dangerous I would suggest having a qualified service technician help you with this conversion and leak test.

If when it was converted to LP the parts that were taken off were not saved then you will need to purchase a whole gas valve since the pressure regulator cap is not available as a separate replacement part for the burner assembly.

You would need to also replace the burner tube and the orifice and the primary air shutter and the pressure regulator cap.

But since the pressure cap is not listed as a separate part available for ordering you will need to purchase a whole valve.

This is very expensive part and so I would suggest you have a local appliance technician who works with gas appliances look at this and he may have one from and previous conversion job he has done and may be able to help you with out having to purchase a $200.00 valve.

In some cases you local gas provider has technicians on staff that would be able to help you with this conversion.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

These symptoms point to a problem with the drive system in the dryer. You could have a bad drive motor or a friction problem in the drum. With the dryer empty, open the door and manually spin the drum counter clockwise to check for excessive friction. The drum should spin with reasonable resistance since the belt is attached to the motor pulley. If the drum is difficult to spin or hangs up during rotation, then you will need to unplug the dryer and open the cabinet to check for the cause of the friction. The first image below shows how to open the cabinet in this type of dryer.

If you do not detect any excessive friction, then you will probably need to replace that drive motor (part 279787). You can order that motor from the Sears PartsDirect website. The second image shows the basic procedure for replacing the drive motor in this type of dryer. Be sure that you unplug the dryer and shut off the gas supply before accessing internal components.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How to remove the front toe panel?

A:

To access the lower portion of the dryer and the door springs the lower toe panel comes off. To remove the toe panel there is two clips located at the top of the toe panel. Push each clip downwards using a thin screwdriver or putty knife, and then pull outward on the top of the toe panel. Repeat on the other side and then lift the toe panel up and off. There should be a slot to remount the bottom of the springs onto the base.
