Question and Answers

Q:

dryer wont shut off 11096478800

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model 59665932402:  If the dryer starts up as soon as you close the dryer door then you probably have a bad push-to-start switch. That component will not normally cause the dryer to run continuously through the off position but it will cause the dryer to start as soon as the door is closed if it is stuck in the "electrically" closed position and the dryer is set in a cycle to run. I have posted a link of the push to start switch to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Thanks for the inquiry about your dryer model 110.96478800, I will be glad to assist. First I suggest that you verify the dryer has the correct voltage supply.  Check your breakers and reset them and test dryer operation. Next read the voltage at the terminal block where the cord attaches, you should have 240 volts ac +- 5%. While you are in that area inspect the wiring for loose or burnt connections. If you have verified proper power supply you will need to follow the circuit from element back testing all thermostats and the thermal fuse. I have attached a basic wiring diagram for your convenience. _Always disconnect power supply before servicing the appliance and when testing live voltage be sure to wear proper safety equipment (gloves and eye protection) also be aware of sharp metals on product_This should help you determine the cause of no heat. If you need additional assistance please reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services. Ron H.
