Kenmore electric dryer 11096320100: Unit was and suddenly stopped, the belt and the routing of the belt is fine, the heating element still works, but do you

A:

Dryer malfunctions can be hard to diagnose. While you wait for the expert to review your model number , you might check a similar question from a previous expert post. The model is a bit different but some of the information should still fit. I attached to the link below. I hope this information helps.

You could have a blown thermal fuse. You can unplug the dryer and remove the back panel to access that fuse. The image below shows the location of that component. Here is a link for a video that shows how to test that fuse: Thermal Fuse Testing . If that thermal fuse is blown, you can order a new one from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for that fuse is 3392519. Be sure that you have the dryer unplugged when accessing internal components.

NOTE: If that thermal fuse was blown, be sure that you check the exhaust vent duct system for a clog or restriction as shown in that video.

If the thermal fuse is okay, you could have a problem with the door switch, the push-to-start button or the wiring.

If you need more help, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Duct was filled with lint at bottom. Thermal fuse did blow. So did part 3389946 after testing it via bypas method. Replaced heating element (probably not necessary). End result is that it's working great again. Previoudly replaced belt and it's always. Very dependable dryer.

Thank you for your question on the dryer age and value.

The model year of the dryer is 1993.

The value of the dryer I cannot help you with. Most appliances have a 12 to 15 years life expectancy. So this dryer is about 18 years old.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Our records show an approximate time frame of 1993 is when this model may have been manufactured. The model number is not what determines the age. We will need the serial number of this model to be able to provide you an accurate date. We also do not have any way of knowing what the washer was sold for originally. To determine what the washer may be worth now, you would need to take it to an appraiser for an estimate. I hope this information helps.
