A dryer is the most convenient household appliance and without it I would feel completely lost. While you are waiting for an expert to respond I was able to locate a video that can help you troubleshoot your dryer. I hope the video that I have provided is helpful. Have a great day!

If the dryer is running but not heating then the first thing to check are the two circuit breakers. One can trip leaving the dryer 120 volts to run the motor but not have 240 volts to heat with. Turn each breaker off then on to see if this helps.

There are several parts that might cause the dryer not to heat and most are located behind the rear panel. See the image below for how to remove the rear panel. Remember to unplug the dryer first.

Most parts can be checked for continuity if you have a meter and are familiar with how it works. This can be a good do-it-yourself repair if you have a few basic tools.

I can provide additional help with this project.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

How do I lift the top of my Kenmore dryer?

A:

I must assume you dryer is a Kenmore and not a Maytag as you noted. The model number you provided is Kenmore dryer and not a Maytag dryer.

I added images below with the instructions on raising the top and removing the front panel along with roller removal instructions.
