When a gas dryer runs but doesn't heat the most likely cause of the problem is a bad thermal fuse. Checking and replacing the thermal fuse can be a great do-it-yourself project. The heating circuit is shown in the image below. The thermal fuse is located on the blower exhaust behind the lower front access panel. Remember to unplug the dryer first.

From the description you give I suspect the problem is the idler pulley. The drum rollers and felt drum seal might also cause a noise but the main suspect would be the idler pulley. You might consider replacing the idler pulley, drum rollers and belt since you will need to remove the drum to access these parts. Any parts you need can be obtained from the following link with the model number: Sears PartsDirect . The images below may help you complete this project. Remember to unplug the dryer first.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I must assume the gas supply was connected and turned on. Since you had to move and transport the dryer to the new place, there is good chance the glow bar igniter may have been broken in the move.

The igniter is located behind the front lower access panel. Remove the panel and then start the dryer and then see if find the igniter glowing red hot or not. If it's not glowing, the igniter should be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. I added an image below with the instructions for removing the lower access panel. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the lower access panel.

I also added a YouTube video showing how to test the glow bar igniter.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
