Question and Answers

Q:

portable wash machine wont spin 110-94518401

A:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are not able to spin the water out of the clothes. You did not mention if the water drains. If it agitates but does not drain or spin, this is most likely the lid switch.  If it drains, but does not spin, it may be the clutch or the gearcase. Try setting the machine on spin without a load. If it spins, the clutch is the issue. If it does not spin with or without a load, the gearcase should be checked. Although some parts for this model are no longer available due to age, the lid switch, clutch and gearcase are available.  The cost of the gearcase may not be cost effective, again due to the age. You may want to consider a new washer if that is the failure. Here is a good video to help test and replace the lid switch, part #3935737. This and other parts and parts diagrams are available at Sears Parts Direct.  If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.

The machine fills, agitates and the watter is pumped out.. So the motor is not broke. When it is time to spin the solinoid clicke but the motor does not run. I jumped the door switch to see if thje tub is free to turn and it does. Is there an electrical switch that will start the motor so it can spin? Thanks in advance

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I understand your frustration when your washer doesn't spin. Based on the information you have provided, the most common problem would be the Lid Switch has failed. The lid switch is what tells the machine that the lid is closed and safe to start the spin cycle.

I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.
