Question and Answers

Q:

my washer wont spin. 11092582420 Kenmore Automatic washer

A:

I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your washer. There are several components that can cause this to happen. These includes the lid switch, the motor coupler, the gearcase, the motor, etc. First open the lid and check the lid switch, you should hear the lid switch clicking as you open and close the lid. Be sure the lid switch plunger is not broken or missing. If it is, or if you don't hear the clicking, then the lid switch is not making full contact and needs to be replaced. If it is not, and it does, then you will need to check the other components. I would suggest you begin with the motor coupler. This three plastic wheels that connect the motor to the gearcase. If one of them is damage, then the washer can't spin. The images below will show you how to access them. If this is okay, then I would suggest that you have a technician diagnose and repair the machine. If you would like to schedule service, just click on this link: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why won't my Kenmore washer agitate?

A:

From your description, it sounds like you are indicating that the motor coupler is broken. This would prevent the washing machine from agitating. This type of repair is not too complicated if you have reasonable technical skills.

The following link of a previous answer describes the procedure for replacing a motor coupler in your type of washer: How do I replace the motor coupling on my Kenmore washer?

NOTE: The process for hinging back the console on your particular model is slightly different. You should see a screw on the front bottom of each side of the console that needs to be removed in order to hinge your console backward.

You can view a parts list diagram and order parts on the Sears PartsDirect website [www.searspartsdirect.com].

If I misunderstood your details and you have a different problem that you need help with, resubmit your question with additional details. Use the part numbers or names from the diagram of the washer to clarify your problem if necessary.
