Q:

filter 11092578410 Kenmore Washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at Kenmore your model number 110.92578410.

1.  Locate the filter near the top of the top.

2.  Slide out the filter.  Rinse it well in warm to hot water.
If the filter is really dirty then use a few drops of dish-
washing liquid and warm water.  Then rinse thoroughly.

3.  Slide the filter back into the slot of the washer.

4.  Proceed as usual the to operate your washer.

Best way to clean washers:

1.  Take out all laundery from inside of the washer.

2.  Add 1 cup of bleach to the detergent dispenser, then close the lid.

3.  Select the hottest setting possible and then start the washing machine to begin cleaning.

4.  Open the washer door when cycle is completed.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Hi Larry L I don't think we are looking at the same filter. If you go to the parts list manual on page 8 in the agitator, basket and tub parts area, illus. no. 18/ part no. 3361948 is called a filter plate. Since I have the washer all apart so I can replace the agitator dogs I thought I would clean this filter also. After I removed agitator I removed the spanner nut, in the illus. it looks like I should be able to lift the basket out and then the filter plate but I can't get the basket to come out at all. I have the entire cabinet off, the drain hose off from the bottom of the tub, the screws and springs that hold the tub to the frame and still cannot lift the basket up and out to get at this filter. I would really like to clean this filter because I can see quite a bit of hair and stuff when I look through the holes in the bottom of the basket. If you could help my wife would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time. Allen

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom; the water inlet valve is faulty. If you have to manually shut off the hot water supply then you have a faulty water inlet valve on the washer.

I added a YouTube video showing how to access and replace the water inlet valve if you feel confident in repairing the washer yourself. The water inlet valve is part #285805 which can be ordered from SearsPartsDirect . NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
