The wiring diagram shows a chart for Timer Switch 48 at the top of that image. That contact will close intermittently according to that chart in order to energize the mix solenoid during the cycle.  If that contact is "open" electrically and will not close properly, then the timer will need to be replaced to fix that dispenser problem.

You can order parts from this page: Kenmore Washer Model 110.92292800 Repair Parts.  Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services Washer Repair.

Lyle, Thanks for responding. What you say makes sense, EXCEPT that there is no wire at that position connecting to harness. In other words, there is a Y-BK wire at position 49 of the timer connector, but no wire is connected to position 48 of the timer connector. Now, this harness/timer connector was unchanged since "birth" ... I wonder how did it ever work.

A:

The wiring diagram only shows the yellow/black wire connected at position 49. I suspect that an internal jumper connects the contact 48 to the yellow/black wire on position 49.

A:

Lyle, thanks again for your patience and your answer! You are correct that there is an internal connection between points #48 & #49 on the connector block. Turns out that on my new timer the contact at position #48 was malfunctioning and never connected with the TW center-leaf. Sh.. happens (smile). I tweaked the #48 contact spring and I hope it will last. Thanks again!

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your washer not draining. We are here to help. Joseph did provide you a good link on this problem. I suspect there is a problem one of the following: the lid switch, coupler, or the pump. The images below will help you open the washer, to check these parts. The clicking noise most likely is coming from the lid switch or coupler. I hope this helps.

To order washer parts, please visit SearsPartsDirect.com with the model number.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Q:

My kennmore washing machine : stops on rinse cycle when temp selector is on warm /cold and if you switch it to warm/ hot it starts filling but at start up it wi

A:

From the description you give most likely the problem will be with the temperature switch or more likely the ETC control.

The cold water works in the wash cycle at start up so the valve is most likely okay. The 661546 temperature switch is available for about $10 dollars while the electronic temperature control 3407135R is about $50 dollars. Both can be obtained from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

The image below shows how to raise the console and access both if you wish to do-it-yourself. Remember to unplug the washer first.

You would need a meter to check this problem. I don't suggest checking live voltage but the temperature switch should show a circuit between the pink and yellow/red wire.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
