Question and Answers

Stopping in the wash cycle 11092094100 Kenmore Automatic washer

washer part needed 11092094100

How old is the washer at my apartment and why won't it fill with cold water, even on a cold cycle?

According to the serial number you that you submitted, you’re washer was manufactured in the 34th week of 1990.

The failure could be:

  • Failed cold water inlet valve
  • Failed microcomputer board
  • Electronic Temperature Control
  • Loose wire connection
  • Thermistor

I do not have enough details in order to say with any certainty what part has failed. If you hear a slight hum or buzzing noise when cold water is selected and started could indicate a restricted water inlet valve. If no hum or buzzing is heard could indicate a board failure. You also have an "ATC" control switch located in the upper left hand corner of the console, if it is set to ON turn it OFF, if it's OFF, turn it ON and retest for cold water.

This type of failure will require testing the cold water inlet valve and voltage coming out of the microcomputer board. It will require a technician with the proper testing equipment and knowledge to diagnose and repair your washer.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer.
