Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If your certain the washer basket will spin and your certain the bottom half of the agitator is not stroking back after the it fills and the motor starts, then I suspect a faulty gear case.

The agitator is a two piece agitator. The upper half is the called the augur and its purpose is to ratchet in one direction to push and pull the clothes downwards. The ratchet motion is provided by the agitate dogs located at the top of the augur. If the agitate dogs become worn, the augur will not ratchet one direction and it may just sit instead of moving a few degrees in one direction. If you open the lid after the spin cycle completes and then rotate the augur back and forth, it should cause the agitator to move one direction only if the agitate dogs are not worn. It it appears to slip, the agitate dogs should be replaced.  To access the agitate dogs, pry the agitator cap off and then remove the bolt in the center of the augur. Lift the augur up and then flip the augur upside down to remove the cam and agitate dogs.

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Kenmore washer model 110.91554210.

The water level pressure switch will have letters next to the terminals. Also, be sure the washer was empty of water before connecting the air tube to the water level pressure switch. If water was in the tub when you connected the air hose to the new water level pressure switch, it will overflow.

The pink wire will connect to terminal (P).

The tan wire will connect to terminal (T).

The violet wire will connect to terminal (V).

If the two reds were attached to black cylinder (motor capacitor) its does not matter which two terminals the two red wires will connect to.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Lisa: If the tub was empty before connecting and installed the new water level pressure switch and it is overfilling, the air tube could have a hole in it, or it could be clogged. If the water will not shut off when you unplug the washer or shut the timer off, the water inlet valve could be sticking open. Sorry for the late reply but I have been sick for the last week.

Thank you for your question.

By what you have stated, it sounds like a lid switch failure. The lid switch has to be closed for the drain and spin cycle on your washer to work. If the lid switch is faulty, it will fill and wash but nothing else. A quick check you can do is to jump the lid switch and see if it will drain. If the washer operates, the lid switch needs to be replaced.

To jump the lid switch you need to unplug the washer and open the console. I have provided you with the instructions for opening the console below. Once you have the console open, locate the connector for the lid switch. Place an insulated jumper between the two colored wires. Not the green it is a ground and will cause a short. After inserting the jumper make sure it will not touch anything metal, plug the washer in. Start the washer in a drain cycle. If the washer drains and spins, you need to replace the lid switch. Do not leave the jumper in while you are waiting for the part. The jumper is only of the test.

To you replace the lid switch you have to remove the cabinet of the washer. The instructions for that are also in the image below. Once the cabinet is removed you can take the screws out securing the lid switch and remove the harness from the clips along the underside of the cabinet. Then reinstall the lid switch in the reverse order. Before you reassemble the cabinet, please read the instructions for installing the cabinet provided in the image.
