Q:

My washer agitates but won't spin and makes a clicking sound 11091551200 Kenmore Washer

A:

Thank You for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com. I do apologize for the delay in answering your question.

I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your washer not draining and spinning. We are here to help. I suspect you are having trouble with the lid switch. The lid switch tells the machine the lid is closed and safe to start the spin cycle. If the lid switch has malfunctioned then the spin cycle wont start.

If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thanks for visiting SearsPartsDirect.com

Q:

lid switch 11091551200 Kenmore Washer

A:

The following procedure will work for most Kenmore and Whirlpool top load washers:

  1. Unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power.
  2. Remove the two plastic end caps on each side of the console. NOTE: Some models do not have removable end caps.
  3. Remove the screws on each side of the console that secure it to the top panel. NOTE: Some models do not have screws. If not, release the clips on each side using a putty knife.
  4. Pull the console forward and hinge it up and back over the top of the back panel of the washer.
  5. Release the clip on each side of the cabinet that secures it to the back panel (see image).
  6. Pull the cabinet forward to access the lid switch wire harness. Unplug the wire harness.
  7. Pull the cabinet off of the washer. You now have access to remove and replace the lid switch.

Replace the switch and reverse the procedure for reassembly.

If you have further questions please let me know.
