Q:

washer fails to pump water or spin. 11091551200

Q:

My washer agitates but won't spin and makes a clicking sound 11091551200 Kenmore Washer

A:

Thank You for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com. I do apologize for the delay in answering your question.

I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your washer not draining and spinning. We are here to help. I suspect you are having trouble with the lid switch. The lid switch tells the machine the lid is closed and safe to start the spin cycle. If the lid switch has malfunctioned then the spin cycle wont start.

If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thanks for visiting SearsPartsDirect.com

Q:

lid switch 11091551200 Kenmore Washer

A:

The following procedure will work for most Kenmore and Whirlpool top load washers:

  1. Unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power.
  2. Remove the two plastic end caps on each side of the console. NOTE: Some models do not have removable end caps.
  3. Remove the screws on each side of the console that secure it to the top panel. NOTE: Some models do not have screws. If not, release the clips on each side using a putty knife.
  4. Pull the console forward and hinge it up and back over the top of the back panel of the washer.
  5. Release the clip on each side of the cabinet that secures it to the back panel (see image).
  6. Pull the cabinet forward to access the lid switch wire harness. Unplug the wire harness.
  7. Pull the cabinet off of the washer. You now have access to remove and replace the lid switch.

Replace the switch and reverse the procedure for reassembly.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Q:

What is the problem, lid switch or strike, when my Kenmore model 110.91551200 washer fails to sense lid switch is closed and start unless something is placed upon the lid?

A:

The lid strike doesn't normally wear down or go bad. The lid might become bent or slightly bowed over time. This can be caused by a wash load being sit on the lid.

The 285671 lid switch is most likely the cause of the problem since you mention it sometimes will stick and not react when the lid is raised.

One thing you can do first before ordering any part is to remove the washer cabinet and check for anything obvious. It may be the switch can be adjusted/tweaked" to always meet the strike when the lid is closed. See the image below for how to do this.

Whatever part you need can be obtained from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

Hopefully you won't need any parts. Check the switch and if it seems okay you might need a lid (not a strike) to correct this problem.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
