Question and Answers

Q:

How do you change the belt on a Kenmore model 110.88890800 stack dryer?

A:

This particular dryer is an older model and "how to" pictures and manuals are not available.

There is an do-it-yourself manual 787206L available from the following link: Sears PartsDirect but it is for the big brother of this dryer and is not specifically for your smaller stack dryer and it is not serviced the same way so I would advise you to save the $20 and not buy it.

The 3394652 belt is also available from the above site.

To change the belt you first unplug the dryer so we don't get a shock.

Remove two screws located in the back holding the top panel down. After the screws are removed slide the top panel back to release it from the two clips holding the front part of the top down.

With the top off there will be two screws holding the top of the front panel to the cabinet. The image below shows a similar dryer and how to remove the front panel and access the drum and belt.

The next image contains instruction on changing the belt and for installing the idler pulley that fell down when the belt broke.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
