Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the washer will agitate with a load of clothes then the motor coupler is Okay. It could have a faulty gear case or it may have a worn clutch assembly. If you can confirm the clutch drum located on top of the gear case is spinning when placed in the spin cycle then it may just need a new clutch. If you do not see the clutch drum spinning then it will be a gear case failure. I added a couple of images below with the theory of the spin operation.

The clutch assembly is part #285785. I added a YouTube video showing how to replace the clutch .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Sorry, but this is not a stack washer/ dryer. It is a top load washer, abour 4-5 years old. The agitator worked but after that when the time for drain and spin cycle came, it stopped.

Naresh: Based on your symptom and details it sounds like the safety lid switch is broken or faulty. The lid switch is located under the top and in order to access the lid switch will require removing the washer cabinet. You will need to place the control panel in the service position by removing the left and right side end cap covers and then the screws located at the bottom of each end cap. See images below. Note: Be sure to disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your washer. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician.

need instructions for a stackable washer-dryer

A:

I understand your concern toward wanting to have the owners manual for your appliance so that you can troubleshoot properly and I will be happy to help. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your model number and your owners manual will pop up. Please keep in mind that if your appliance is over ten years old there may not be an owners manual available. I hope my link is useful.
