Door switch for the model 110.87880100.

Please for safety and concerns to keep your dryer running well is wise to check the lint screen and vent of air flow going out of the house.   If clogged up it could cause heating problems on any dryer.

To prevent a Blocked Vent Hood, once a year:

1.  Clean any lint blockage from the exhaust vent hood.
2.  Make sure the vent hood flappers move freely.
3.  Check for screen/grate openings that allow bird or rodent nests.
4.  Replace exhaust vent hood if damaged.
5.  Check for good air flow while running the dryer.
Note: Poor airflow or decreased airflow indicates further vent system cleaning is needed.

Q:

Dryer 11087880100

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
I know that it can be very frustrating when your dryer stops working properly.
There are several components that can cause this with the dryer. They include the door switch, the motor, the timer, and the thermal fuse. Any of these parts being defective would cause the dryer not to start. In order to know which part is causing the issue, you will need to access and test the components with a multimeter.
If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-349-5071, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.
Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
