Question and Answers

Q:

Gas dryer flame lights for only up to 1 minute 11087574120 Kenmore Gas dryer

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Dryer, Model: 110.87574120. From reviewing the details on your model, the key to this problem is knowing what the ignitor is doing. If the flame won't dome be on and the ignitor continues to glow and click off then the no flame problem is most likely caused by the gas valve or gas coils. When the ignitor clicks off, listen for a humming noise or a buzzing noise from the coils. If you heat this and there is no flame then likely the gas valve is the problem. If you hear nothing then the coils can be the cause of the problem.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the dryer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with accessing the blower wheel to remove what was dropped. First, unplug the dryer from the wall. Then remove the two screws near the filter opening. Then pull the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the vent. Now remove the screws that secure the back panel. Set the panel aside and remove the screws from the filter duct that secure the duct to the blower housing. Once they are removed, you can pull the duct from the blower housing and carefully remove the object. Be careful because the edges of the metal parts are sharp. If the duct will not come out far enough pot the top of the dryer up to move the duct more.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.
